Dear friends,
I’m excited to share that I’ve been invited to attend the Africa Liberty Forum 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya, taking place from July 29 to August 2. This is one of the continent’s most respected gatherings of thought leaders, researchers, and advocates working for liberty, human rights, and good governance across Africa.
I am humbled that my research paper was accepted for presentation at this forum — a recognition that I consider not just a personal milestone, but a significant step for the work I do in amplifying voices for justice and freedom, especially from underrepresented communities in Zimbabwe.
The George Ayittey Society, who extended the invitation, are generously covering all major costs — including return flights, accommodation, and participation in the full conference program.
However, I’m currently facing a shortfall in covering some critical local and logistical expenses that fall outside the official sponsorship — such as:
● The mandatory yellow fever vaccination
● Travel from Kwekwe to Harare and back for the flight
● Travel from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to the hotel in Nairobi
Altogether, I need to raise about US$300 to meet these costs — and unfortunately, due to the short notice of the invitation, I’ve had very little time to make adequate financial preparations.
If you are in a position to assist in any way, I would be sincerely grateful. No amount is too small — and every contribution brings me one step closer to representing Zimbabwean voices in this important space.
More than just attending, I see this opportunity as a platform to carry forward the message of liberty, justice, and dignity for all — and I promise to share the insights, outcomes, and networks from the Forum with everyone who supports me on this journey.
If you’d like to help, please feel free to reach out to me directly via inbox or email (mbofana.tendairuben73@gmail.com), and I will gladly share the details.
Thank you so much for reading — and for always being part of my journey.
With gratitude,
Tendai Ruben Mbofana
