Dear friends around the world,
Today, I write to you not as someone seeking personal gain, but as a humble servant of truth, justice, and human dignity—pleading for your help in the fight for a better Zimbabwe.
For years, I have dedicated myself to being the voice of the voiceless in a land where speaking out is often met with intimidation, persecution, and exclusion. I have chosen the difficult path of standing up to power, exposing the rampant looting of our national resources, denouncing repression, and bravely writing against the injustices that have wrecked a once-prosperous nation.
Zimbabwe was once known as the “jewel and breadbasket of Africa”. Today, it has been reduced to a shell of its former self—a place where our hospitals lack basic medicines, our children learn under trees, our roads are crumbling, and millions sleep on empty stomachs. This is not because we lack resources. It is because of greed. It is because of corruption. It is because those in power have chosen self-enrichment over national service.
And yet, in the face of this, I have refused to be silent.
Each article I write, each word I speak, is an act of defiance against tyranny. I continue to speak truth to power, fully aware of the personal risks—because I believe Zimbabwe deserves better. But this courage comes at a cost. In a country notorious for crushing dissent, my outspokenness has made me a target. Job opportunities have become scarce. Associations have been severed out of fear. And financially, I am stretched to the limit.
I am not asking for pity—I am asking for solidarity.
If you believe in justice, if you believe in a better Africa, if you believe in the power of truth, then I ask you to stand with me. Your support—whether financial or in kind—will help me continue this important work: researching, writing, organizing, and amplifying the voices of the oppressed. It will help me survive as I stand on the frontlines of a struggle too often ignored by the world.
With your help, we can keep the fire of justice burning. We can rebuild Zimbabwe into the proud, thriving nation it once was. A Zimbabwe where hospitals work, schools inspire, roads connect us, and every citizen lives with dignity.
No contribution is too small. And every act of kindness is a step toward freedom.
Please, help me fight for justice in Zimbabwe.
With humble gratitude,
Tendai Ruben Mbofana
